Location and Hotel Reservations
You will stay at the beautiful and newly remodeled Hilton Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport Mall of America hotel at 3800 American Blvd E, Bloomington, Minnesota 55425. Hotel reservations can be made by calling the Hilton at 952-854-2100 or on the web at http://group.hilton.com/americaldivisionveteransassociation. Use the reunion Group Code: ADVA. The reunion room rate is $114 per day plus 15.25% tax.
Reunion, Tours and Banquet Registration
We have teamed up again with Armed Forces Reunions, Inc. (AFR), the leading military-reunion management company. AFR will provide web based reunion registration, pre-selected banquet seating with your friends, and on-site reunion support. You may register for the reunion, tours, and banquet by completing the online form and pay by credit card at afr-reg.com/americal2017 . You may also register by completing and mailing the Activity Registration Form located HERE.
THURSDAY, August 24
10:00am – 3:00pm Lunch & Locks Cruise - $79/person
Includes bus, escort, and lunch cruise Experience a special four-hour trip from St. Paul up the Mississippi river, through Lock and Dam #1 into Minneapolis, and return. Listen to lively banjo music and take in the spectacular scenery. Enjoy a historical narration by the captain and pass through one of America's deepest locks.
6:00pm – 8:00pm Welcome Buffet Dinner - $36/person
Savor good food and enjoy good friends in a very informal gathering.
FRIDAY, August 25
10:00am – 4:00pm Twin Cities/Ft. Snelling Tour & Memorial Service - $57/person
Includes bus, guide, and admission. Explore with us the infamous history of St. Paul and the 1930's gangsters like John Dillinger, Ma Barker and Babyface Nelson. See the sights where the gangsters lived it up as they planned and executed some of the most notorious crimes ever perpetrated in the upper Midwest. Then we’ll head to the Mall of America to enjoy lunch on your own at one of over forty restaurants. After lunch, we’ll head to historic Ft. Snelling. Built in the early 1820s, Fort Snelling is a great place to learn about military history. Its location, at the junction of the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers, has been significant for centuries to many American Indian communities. After touring the Fort we’ll hold the Americal Division Association Memorial Service before returning to the hotel.
SATURDAY, August 25
10:00am – 3:00pm Stillwater Tour for Spouses/Guests - $42/Person
Includes bus, guide, and lunch. Travel back in time to Stillwater, a quaint, town on the St. Croix River and the oldest town in Minnesota. Enjoy an early lunch at the historic Lowell Inn. You will have time to wander along Main Street and browse through the many wonderful shops. Voted best daytrip in Minnesota and one of the 10 prettiest towns in America.
6:00pm – 10:00pm BANQUET DINNER – $49/person (no cost for WWII members & spouse or escort).
We have an exceptional menu and some unique entertainment that will make for a memorable event that should not be missed.
Transportation & Shuttle Information
There is free Hilton shuttle service from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to the nearby reunion hotel. There are two terminals at MSP Airport: Terminal #1-Lindbergh and Terminal #2-Humphrey. It is important to know in which terminal your airline is located. They are accessed off separate roadways. Terminal #1-Lindbergh services: Air Canada, Air Choice One, Air France, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Boutique Air, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, and Spirit Airlines. Terminal #2-Humphrey services: Condor, Icelandair, Southwest Airlines, and Sun Country Airlines. Free Light Rail Transit trains run between terminals around the clock, seven days a week, approximately every 10 minutes during peak times and 10 to 15 minutes at other times of day. The free Hilton shuttle service will go to both terminals every 30 minutes.
