Enjoy the web site very much.

This is my first hit on your website. I think it is cool. Keep up the good work.

I enjoy logging on to the Americal website...it's great

You have nice pages. I had a friend from 101st Airborne, name is Al Hurst. Don't know what happened to him where he went. I was class president in 1969 and we sent shoeboxes to service men and women in Vietnam. Al received one of these boxes. We wrote. He came to see me when he got home from Nam. I have often wondered what he is doing today. I have tried to locate him but no luck. He is originally from Scarsdale, NY I think? smile Aw, I have one of those 101st airborne badges he gave to me. ((SCREAMIN' EAGLES)) I was 17 back then. Funny how we hold onto little things....that warm our heart. smile I am leaving a "little something" grin for you and all veterans! Thank-you for your service...and my freedom! AND if anyone sees my old friend, Al Hurst, please tell him I am looking for him.

Good website like to find old friends who may remember me, I worked at the CPO office

Great! Will return again and also will post queries on your Locator page.

Arrived in country 10-67 by ship with BtryB1stBn14thArty198thInfBde. Transfered to 11thLIB in 3-68.

Enjoy your site. I flew out of with the 235th Attack Helicopter Co during Lam Son 719. Your site brings back some old memories.

My uncle, Tom Spencer, served with the Americal in WW II, I believe from Bougainville on. I'm poking around to find out more about what the unit did since he was never enthusiastic about talking very much about it. He said he and a buddy were cut off during some sort of Japanese counterattack and spent several days in the jungle before re-entering American lines. One of those "minor actions" of major importance to those involved.

You brought back a lot of the good times and bad times. Its nice to know we are not forgoten. Thank you

Served as 3rd platoon leader D company 1/20 and Recon platoon leader 1/20 in 69 and 70 on Lz Liz. Anyone remember Robin Hood?

Just passing thru again. It seems I come here more and more often. Not looking for anyone in particular. Was on Upshur from Ft. Hood. With 1/6 LIB E Co.[recon] Got wounded and sent south to Phan Rang sometime in Feb. or Mar.

My father was a member of the americal as am I, I served in the Navy during the vietnam war. My father was on guadalcanal with the 182nd inf and was from Massachusetts as well as I. I love the magazine it has a lot of info. I wish I didn't have to wait every three months for the issue. I live in Newburyport Mass., if anyone wants to contact me. woody

I have tried to find a very good friend, Charles (BUTCH) Swartz. He was from Franklin, Oh. Please advise if you have any address. Also, I would like to obtain a unit crest and shoulder patch of the 1/1 CAV

Was thrilled to find this on the net; still reading and browsing but I think it's great. Jim Thomas; Olathe, KS

As a very proud Army Brat, I found your site very informative, especially the area on Army Awards. I have been researching the career of my father, Col. Rowland Berger Shriver, Jr., Field Artillery, (died in 1992). I would love to hear from anyone that may have known him.

I was unable to locate any info on the 11th Brigade. I do like the page and hope to locate some of my old platoon members. I've had serveral calls from them so far and hope to get more. thx freddie mcdonald

Great website! This site is very informative and helpful. You can be proud of this site.

Just wanted to check in

My father fought with the 196th in '67&'68. I had no idea the history of this prestigous unit and have gained a new respect and wealth of knowledge from your site. If every one could understand the effects of this war on our soldiers maybe they would finally get the respect and thanks that we all as Americans owe them entirely.

Great site!

Hope I can find and old friend or 2. It would be great to see or here from them.

Happy to be with the gang again. Thanks for making this site available.

I am trying to get information about my father,Leslie R Fales He was a Merchant Marine during WWII, shipped from Port Elizabeth, New Jersey. He died 8/8/47. I am trying to find my paternal family.

Terrific site!! I'm signing in memory of my father, James E. Leach. Sorry I don't know what order this is supposed to be in but he served in: B company, 3rd Battallion, 21st Infantry, 196th LIB of the 23rd (Americal) (70-71)If anyone remembers him, I would appreciate hearing from you. He just passed away Nov. 30, 1997 from a brain tumor. I loved going to Houston for the Veterans marches and gatherings with him. Thanks for a great site!!

Excellent service. I got here from a Vietnam Link, thought I may have been in a wrong webpage when I saw all the Americal Logos. You have quite an array of resources. Very commendable. Shows a lot of hard work and diligence in putting this site together. I did come out with a few things. I will send email to verify non violation of linking. Continue the mission, and a job well done, even if Calley did belong to you all. He use to live and work here in Columbus, Georgia. But that was when I first arrived here in 1984. He just got caught, but that's my personal opinion. I called in Artillery fire and covered grid squares (friendly? villages included) without blinking an eye. What do you call that, murder or act of war? Depends who you are talking to these days. Keep the faith. Email on the way.

Interesting

I THOUGHT YOUR PAGE WAS GREAT ,BEEN LOOKING FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS FOR A LONG. HOW DO I BECOME COME A MEMBER IN MY AREA.

Looks GOOD. I"ll be back !

I served with the 198 LIB while in Viet Nam Just wondering if you plan a web page for the 198?

very good
