March 1996
Just surfed in and found the page. Very interesting I do plan on returning to check further.
I am proud to be an ADVA Member and wish to thank all of those folks who have made this site possible. Thanks to all.
I am a retired Lt. Col of the Israeli Air Force. The Page is very impressive and seems that the Webmaster did an excellent work. I salute to the Corp and to the American people.

This is a great service. I served with the 176th AHC (Minutemen) in Chu Lai 69 to 70, and the 12th Signal Battalion Da Nang 71 to 72. I would be happy to hear from any of my old buddies.
I am life member of the Graybeards and the 5th Comet (5th Communications Group.) Would like to join the local chapter. District of Columbia or Northern Virginia. Air Force.
I was an Infantry rifleman in C Co 5/46 198th Inf Bde (Chu Li) 1970. I will monitor this page for information concerning my old unit. Finding this web page was quite a surprise.
I think the page looks good and I am proud of having served with the Americal Division.

What a surprise it was for me when one morning I went online (without the help of family) and found you guys. I have always felt a special closeness to my Americal Division especially the 196th L.I.B. I thank all who are responsible. WELCOME HOME!
Great Job. I teach at the VA Hospital and will be taking this material to them. New to the Internet, 4 months and have a lot to learn. THANKS AGAIN! GREAT JOB!

I am an Australian Vietnam Veteran Serving with First Battalion The Royal Australian Regiment June 65 to June 66 at Bien Hoa where my Battalion Group was attached to The 173rd Airborne Brigade (Sep) I was involved heavily in The Australian Vietnam Forces Welcome Home Parade in Sydney on 3 October 1987 as a member of the Committee. An American and his wife (now Divorced) arrived at the Committee Office and announced they had just arrived at Sydney Airport, put their gear in a cab and drove to the office.....to help us....help us they did. He may be a member of your association as I know he served with The Americal Division in Vietnam, he was a crewy on a Chopper but couldn't get him to talk too much about it. We drove together in 1989 to Washington and visited The Wall together. His name !is Steve Fredendall when I last spoke to him he was at (608)7564850 but I think he may have moved. He lives in Jaynesville, Wisconsin, he was involved in the developement of The Wisconsin Memorial. If you have him on your books as a member, please convey my best wishes to him. As an Australian I share an affinity with your Unit...as I live under The Southern Cross....and it appears on my national Flag. Best wishes to The Americal Association and members from The Secretary, The Australian (Down Under) Chapter XI of The International Society of The 173rd Airborne Brigade.
Duty First - AIRBORNE
It is great that the group has not dropped the name Americal, as the Army did. That act turned its back on an honorable history.
