I found my Army buddy after 55 years of searching. He is living in Waco Texas and I am in Arizona. I located him through the Americal chapter.
It's nice to see such a site on the web. I would welcome mail from other vets, particularly helicopter pilots and crewmembers.
I am a 100% Service Connected Vietnam Veteran and Paralegal ! Fully amblutory, (for now), I plan to attend Law School and represent DAV and any disabled veterans, hopefully through rhe highest authority which I think now may be the NVLSP, Washington, D.C. Funny I should find this web site, while station at Ft. Devens I helped train you guys while you were getting ready to go,,,, do you remember "The Village" in the woods, god man what we did to you guys was unreal, but I truly beleive it got you ready for life in combat. After leaving ASA I went to OCS at Ft. Sill, Okla. Went to flight school, went to Nam went back to my basic branch and landed in the 199th Light Infantry Brigade, 2/40th Arty, walked into Tet 68 helped fight off a assult, 105's in direct fire into the fence line at the Brigade Main Base, next day was at the American Embassy in Siagon, from there three assults on The Race Track in Siagon, that was the first week in country, welcome to Nam! Good luck to all, luv to hear from you! God Bless

NAVY CORPSMAN - MEDCAP / ANTAN
This is all new to me I think it's great. I was in Chulai Vietnam Marine Corps and Americal div was on the hill just wanted to say hi, welcome home all.
This is a great page.
My father came from Alston, Mass. He had been in the old CMTC at Fort McKinley in 1939 & 40, and was activated in 1941. He served at Quadalcanal and throughout the Pacific Theater. Any old timers out there?
This is a great idea. If people look about the internet & find an old Army buddy they can contact each other.
Was searching for a PIC of all Army Awards and Decorations in order of prec. and happened upon your site. I think you have a great site, plenty of good info. Will pass it on to my dad who is USMC Retired, and vet of just about everything since Moses was a private. Bye for now, from the home of the "MADD DAWGS" SSG JM CONNOLLY

I really like your pages but wish you had a bigger data base for locating lost friends. The only thing left to say is WELCOME HOME BROTHERS!!
I think that this web page is great, a friend of mine, not associated with the Americal located this by accident. I have a few friends that were in my squad that I will introduce this web page to. Keep up the good work.
I really enjoyed the ADVA web site. Welcome Home to the men of this Distinguished Division. Although I never had the privilege and honor to provide your Division with Huey Gunship cover, the reputation of the Americal Division is well known to those of us who served in Vietnam. The men of the Americal Division did an outstanding job while fighting in South Vietnam. I would also like to thank the ADVA for having a locator service for other units on their web site. The more an individual can put out his name and the names of those he/she is looking for, the better the chances of finding those individuals. I salute the men and women of the Americal Division!
Great site! I was hoping I could get some help for my units site from some vets. Any ony that served with either the 2nd or 3rd Battalion, 1st Infantry (at anytime), I would like to hear from you. My url is http://143.214.20.26/1bde/Units%20Pages/21/index.html I would also like to find any one that knew my grandfather, Charles R. Nicholson, he was in the 23rd Div during WW2. I would like to find out what unit he was in. I know that he was wounded at Bougainville, Solomon Islands on 13 March 1944, while trying to restore commo on Hill 260. I have a packet that I found after he died, that someone put him in for a Bronze Star but all he received was a Division Letter of Commendation. Thanks for your help, and keep up the great work.
So far I've enjoyed-I'll be in touch. I'm trying to compose a book of my experiences during my time in Vietnam. I'm having a lot of trouble with names, dates, etc. I didn't keep a journal, so I'll be assking for help. Thanks for being there!
Finally find out about my old unit
Great site. Brought back a lot of memories. I was an Air Force Sgt. attached to HQ Co. 196th LIB at LZ Baldy. I arrived at the 196th just in time to move to Baldy from Hill xxxx. I don't remember what it was. I supplied weather info by telephone to Chu Lai and I was supposed to brief the Brigade Commander on the forecast at his daily briefing. I believe his name was Col. Gelling. I was too chicken to brief him myself, so I got a young Lt. to do it for me. I can't remember his name but he was a savior to me. Thanks.
I was suprised when I saw the adress of this website, I am a new computer novice and would like to here from some of my old comrades. I'm not much of a joiner but I am proud of my service to my country. This is great, keep the faith.
I have been trying to find anyone who might be able to tell me if the 328th Radio Research Co. has had any reunions or if there are any plans. I have enjoyed the site. Bill Martindale
I was extremely pleased to find the site and have enjoyed looking around. I see that I was entitled to an MUC. I wish i had known about the reunion.
I enjoy the quarterly magazine, and view this as another vehicle to read about ADVA. Is there contact information some where on the local chapter? I live in PA, and only when I read the October-December issue did I know there was a reunion this summer. Regards,
I just got on line so I hope the E-Mail address is correct. I served with B-3/1 from 8-69 until 3-70 and then HHC until late 7-70. I am glad to see this and will check for reunions in the central US. I am amember of the Hill 4-11 and have been to two reunions. pardn the spelling I'm not a typist. I saw the Citation on PFC Winder, he was a nice guy but don't forget about Sgt Reha Kidd and the rest of weapons platoon that died that day not to mention the others. Best of luck,
Great Web site, keep up the good work!
I thing it great,Any out there was on hill 102 in Aug.If soon I would like to here from you.
I'm not a member but the daughter of Arthur R. Wood (World War II Vet) who passed away in 1989. I think the website is great and know that both myself and my brother Arthur M. Wood will be visiting often.
I got the web address from a VFW mag, and thought I would check it out. It's good to have a forum like this.
REMEMBER ME? Please contact me. Also remember Capt. Whittecare? He died of lung cancer on Sept. 6TH. God rest his soul. He was a good man.
Nice web stuff- excellent page.
Signing this on behalf of my Father, Ivy Lee Stafford and my father-in-law, W.L. Snyder (survivor of Bataan Death March)
While the newsletter is superb reading, this website is well done and, I'm sure, deeply appreciated by others like myself. The evident good work and dedication I see while cruising around these pages should not go unheralded. Thanks to all the ADVA folks for their efforts.
Thank-you very much for this site. Maybe I can locate my buddy through you. The Army won't help me. How do I become a member of the ADVA in my area, UP, MI?
I was the medic for 3rd platoon. (3rd Platoon, Co.A, 5th Battalion, 46th Infantry, 198th Infantry Brigade, LZ Gator Base Camp.)
Doc says Hi to all former members of the 3rd Plt. H Toop 17th Cav.
Good site but I'm a little disappointed that E Troop from the Duc Pho basecamp is not included in the 1/1 Cav listings. We were a special ops unit and worked with the 11th Bde, and 3/1 Inf, 196 Inf, 1/20 Inf
Hi, Just browsing your page. Very Impresive. Currently work for a man who served in this divison. Lt. Col Gregory L. Morgan. Greg belongs to your Northeast Chapter. Great guy. He's running for Congress in 1998 in the 1st District of Mass. Thanks for the look.
Excellent job, great to re-visit memories every now and then, spent most of my time around lz bronco-Duc Pho / Chu Lai.
I would like to learn more about the ship Arizona ship 30.I am very interested in the imformation that you can provide for me in that certain topic Thank you For you time.
I was pleasantly surprised and surprisingly moved to stumble across your ADVA page. I think it's a great service. Just skimming through the locator requests brought back a lot of vivid memories. Congratulations!

pretty darn interesting, after all these years
I find this site very informative and helpful. Keep up the good work!
I look forward to hearing from your organization.
Greetings. My Uncle Capt Francis D. Cronin was the author of a book published in 1951 by the Combat Forces Press. At the present time I am looking to acquire copies of this book. It is titled "Under The Southern Cross" - The Saga of the Americal Division. As my Uncle died many years ago, his only daughter does not have a copy of his book. She has two sons (one is in the Army stationed in Germany) and I believe this book is something they should have to remember their father / grandfather. If anyone in your organization has any copies or knows of any copies which may be acquired, I would be very grateful. To all your members Seasons Greetings. Thank you for any help you may provide in my search.
Merry Christmas to all A Battery members!
I am James Jr. and while I was searching for a book titled "Under The Southern Cross" for my dad as Christmass gift I found this terrific site. I downloaded some of the info and presented it to my dad. He does not get emotional, but I could see it in his eyes that he felt that he still has strong feelings for his "old unit" Thanks.
I think you guys did a great job and are still doing so. Would like to hear from you, also Im trying to locate a mate who lives in HARTFORD CT his name is JOHN HENNINGER he worked at a Veteran Hospital as counselor ?.Hope some one can help. Thanks mates

I am a National Service Officer for the Military Order of the Purple Heart. I am pleased to see this web page also the National Legal Services Program web page.
I feel like I found gold when I found this site. I've already been in contact with one guy from the old outfit and I'm really looking forward to getting "active".
You Guys are doing a terrific job!
I have only just found this page and at this time do not have time for a good look. More comments to follow.
Very well done and informative
This web site is a good idea, I just learned about it.
Trying to fill in some of the BLANKS
Noticed your ad in VFW magazine. Interesting web site, especially for someone with a different service background. All the best!

Just found out about the site. Hope to use it for locating a few buddies and some personal history.
Still on my first flight thru, but I like what I see so far.
The information you have provided was quite absorbing and very interesting. It helped me clarify a lot of hazy memory. Got me to remembering a lot of good times as well as the bad. Thank you for your obvious efforts.
Just found the site. I got the address out of the VFW magazine.
I finally made it on the web. This is great. I am always thinking of the NAM. Gary Noller do you remember me. Or anyone else from BRAVO CO. 1/46.
I'm glad I found this web site.
I had just received my VFW magazine this morning and noticed the article about the different military organizations that served in Vietnam. I went to the Americal home page to see if anyone I had served with had placed an ad on your page. I am sorry to say that I didn't recognize any of the names listed.
Excellent Site!
Great site. I appreciate it very much. Used your Locator page. Can I get chapter/membership information?
