Your site is one of the best sites on the internet. I was at LZ Debbie in May '69 to Aug. '69. I remember some of the Quad 50 guys and would like to hear from any surviving members of an APC crew called "Tracks of My Tears" I was in the firefight when this APC "bought it." It happened on QL-1, just south of Duc Pho. I also remember some of the guys that were at the TOC center on LZ Debbie's hill top. If memory serves me correctly, there was a mortar crew there.
Was with the 1st armor cav on hill 1
Very welcome and useful service!
It is always nice to have a place to visit with your buddies. This is the place that makes it possible. Keep up the good work.
I'am trying to acquire information on my brother KIA his name is Cecil Olsen PFC the above service time in country is his (died 3 days after his 21st birthday.) Any possible help would be appriciated.Pedro
Richard Seeley was a member of the Americal Division at Guadacanal in WW11. He is in the Prescott VAMC nursing home now. If anybody can visit or something, I am sure he would appreciate it.
I hope this helps me as I have been searching for a while. Thank you very much and keep up the good work!!!!!
Looking for all you middle aged (not old) "Troopers", I just learned of these sights in september and it brought back a flood of memories and started me wondering where and how all of you are doing. I have alot of pictures from Hawk hill, Chu-lai and in the AO. I spent time in the field with George Kolodjeski, Ron Martin and Gazji Jayhay not sure of last guys spelling. I'm a member of the Cav Assn. Also I'm very proud of all the new young "troopers" carrying on the tradition in Bosnia keep up the good work.
good job fellows
You may be interested to know that in 1986 there was a proposal in the Pentagon to reactivate the Americal Div as a joint ARNG-AC division to be stationed in FL< PR and Panama. The plan was not approved.
Let's never forget the ones who didn't come back. to those who did-----WELCOME HOME!!!!!!

Good to see a site to be able to talk to someone who knows what we went through. God Bless.
Excellent. I've had great results. A special thanks to LAFFIN (HAL). Don't know who is exactly but he definitely came through for me.
I was able to contact several people just looking through the postings. This is a useful site.
I was with the Big Red One for 8 months and was transferred to Americal (C 1/20Inf 11th LIB) in March 1970. Was at LZ Liz for 2 months then spent 2 months at OP 3 next to Liz. Anyone remember Trace or "Scranton" from C Co? Or the night ambush we, the 1st platoon (C 1/20) walked into on the old French railroad track near Duc Pho, the night of March 25th? How about Larry, Doc or Stub from OP111 (short timers hill)? God bless you all. Great page. Keep up the good work.
Looked at Web site for background OB Info. Thanks. Thanks for your work at An Hoc. PM

LZ Gator was the first home base camp SW of Chu Lai. Does LZ Center, Ross, Moore, Baldy, etc. ring a bell? Bridge at An Ton? Rocket Pocket? Fred Brown of 2nd Platoon, Charlie Denning platoon sargent, and I remain in contact. I would like to locate the company commander, a man I admire a lot. He was Captain James Price.
Just got a computer and have started tracing my time in country.Best to all the boys hope they're doing well. John Compared to the wall, New Jersey's not too bad.
I think what you're doing is great!
WANTED: Video and Audio Tapes of Vietnam Radio Traffic, Firefights, Fire Missions, etc. I am trying to put a collection of ordinary GI's films and tapes. Have MUCH of the same to trade. Thank you for a very nice site!
I was a Battalion Fire Direction Officer at the HQ on Artillery Hill in Chu Lai for my first 3 months, then commanded Alpha Battery which was collocated with the Tra Bong Special Forces Camp near the village of Tra Bong, and completed my tour as an Ass't S-3 at Divison Artillery HQ.
I retired from the US Army in October 1993 as a Colonel, and now help run a small Credit Union in Missoula, MT. I have not, over the years, run into more than one or two of my mates from the Americal, and only thought of this site's possible existance because of a collegue who is going to Vietnam with a 101st Abn Div group in April '99.
Please tell me about the Association, possible membership and activities. This is truely exciting! Thank you so much.
